The tech-heavy Nasdaq, however, declined. This was all the more surprising given that one of the best earnings seasons in years was unfolding at the same time. The reason for the caution: The new chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh, and the other members left the benchmark interest rate unchanged, but three members voted for a rate hike. This hasn't happened in quite some time. Suddenly, the market was no longer talking about interest rate cuts, but about the opposite. Higher interest rates tend to weigh on stock markets, with growth-oriented companies—such as those typically found in the technology sector—being particularly affected.

Overall, corporate earnings paint a very encouraging picture. In the U.S. in particular, many companies reported record earnings. However, despite positive corporate earnings, the market reaction for many stocks was limited.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type='in_container' full_screen_row_position='middle' column_margin='default' column_direction='default' column_direction_tablet='default' column_direction_phone='default' scene_position='center' text_color='dark' text_align='left' row_border_radius='none' row_border_radius_applies='bg' row_position_desktop='default' row_position_tablet='inherit' row_position_phone='inherit' overflow='visible' overlay_strength='0.3″ gradient_direction='left_to_right' shape_divider_position='bottom' bg_image_animation='none'][vc_column column_padding='no-extra-padding' column_padding_tablet='inherit' column_padding_phone='inherit' column_padding_position='all' flex_gap_desktop='10px' column_element_direction_desktop='default' column_element_spacing='default' desktop_text_alignment='default' tablet_text_alignment='default' phone_text_alignment='default' background_color_opacity='1″ background_hover_color_opacity='1″ column_backdrop_filter='none' column_shadow='none' column_border_radius='none' column_link_target='_self' column_position='default' gradient_direction='left_to_right' overlay_strength='0.3″ width='1/1″ tablet_width_inherit='default' animation_type='default' bg_image_animation='none' border_type='simple' column_border_width='none' column_border_style='solid'][vc_column_text css='' text_direction='default']

Our investment solutions and positioning

Our multi-asset solutions continued their steady upward trend over the past month, driven primarily by defensive value stocks and Swiss government bonds. To reduce risk and stabilize the portfolio over the long term, we lowered the overall equity allocation to a neutral weighting and selectively reinvested the freed-up capital in Swiss government bonds. Within the remaining equity allocation, we reallocated funds in favor of European utilities and global high-dividend stocks. This adjustment further strengthens the portfolio's resilience to market fluctuations without having to forego opportunities as they arise.

July unfolded in two very distinct phases, which were largely shaped by the conflict over the Strait of Hormuz and the price of oil. Our Cross-Asset Fund Navigator had already reduced its exposure to energy stocks in April in favor of the previously weaker healthcare and consumer staples sectors and benefited from this reallocation. In June, we took the opportunity to repurchase a portion of the energy positions we had previously sold, which had a positive impact in the second half of July. Overall, the key was to avoid taking the strategy's positioning to extremes while still capitalizing on the opportunities that arose. The Navigator Fund also posted remarkably strong results in July.

Following a very encouraging performance so far this year, our equity strategy Global Equity Trends took a breather last month, though stocks from the industrial, materials, and technology sectors remained among the most reliable drivers. To make the portfolio even more resilient in the current market environment, we have reduced our exposure to pure-play growth stocks and, in return, built positions in the global energy sector. This move takes into account the attractive valuations and strong cash flows of energy companies and specifically addresses the recent sector rotation. The strategy thus remains well-positioned to continue benefiting from pronounced trends.

The Equity Strategy Swiss Equity Selection continued to post encouraging monthly results, building seamlessly on its solid performance for the year, driven primarily by the recovery in the domestic healthcare and financial sectors. We took advantage of market conditions to selectively increase our holdings in the blue-chip stocks Roche, Novartis, and Zurich Insurance without altering the portfolio's underlying structure. While Roche delivered impressive operating profit growth in the first half of the year, Zurich Insurance's fundamental strength underscores its long-term potential within the portfolio.

With a strong performance, the equity strategy Global Equity Selection emerged as the top performer in July, driven primarily by strong momentum from European financial and industrial stocks as well as select U.S. technology leaders. On the corporate front, Alphabet, among others, impressed with robust figures and progress in the field of artificial intelligence, while Novartis made headlines with encouraging clinical trial data. Since the current portfolio optimally capitalizes on market opportunities and the risk-reward profile is well balanced, no transactions were necessary last month. We are therefore sticking to our quality strategy, which has also proven very successful so far this year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type='in_container' full_screen_row_position='middle' column_margin='default' column_direction='default' column_direction_tablet='default' column_direction_phone='default' scene_position='center' text_color='dark' text_align='left' row_border_radius='none' row_border_radius_applies='bg' row_position_desktop='default' row_position_tablet='inherit' row_position_phone='inherit' overflow='visible' overlay_strength='0.3″ gradient_direction='left_to_right' shape_divider_position='bottom' bg_image_animation='none'][vc_column column_padding='no-extra-padding' column_padding_tablet='inherit' column_padding_phone='inherit' column_padding_position='all' flex_gap_desktop='10px' column_element_direction_desktop='default' column_element_spacing='default' desktop_text_alignment='default' tablet_text_alignment='default' phone_text_alignment='default' background_color_opacity='1″ background_hover_color_opacity='1″ column_backdrop_filter='none' column_shadow='none' column_border_radius='none' column_link_target='_self' column_position='default' gradient_direction='left_to_right' overlay_strength='0.3″ width='1/1″ tablet_width_inherit='default' animation_type='default' bg_image_animation='none' border_type='simple' column_border_width='none' column_border_style='solid'][vc_column_text css='' text_direction='default']

What next? And what needs to be considered?

The emerging broadening of corporate earnings growth and potential diplomatic progress regarding the Strait of Hormuz generally continue to create a positive environment for stocks. However, the erratic behavior of the Trump administration remains a risk factor. At the same time, with the upcoming midterm elections in the U.S., the administration must be able to demonstrate credible progress, which suggests a likelihood of de-escalation.

'Success in the financial markets is not based on predictions, but on consistent risk management.'

It is also important to keep an eye on market liquidity, which, together with corporate earnings trends, is the most important factor driving rising stock prices. According to our models, global liquidity is currently moving sideways, which can be classified as neutral.

Against this backdrop, we will generally maintain our current course, but will continue to closely monitor current developments so that we can take tactical measures if necessary.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css='' text_direction='default']Point Capital Group
August 6, 2026[/vc_column_text][nectar_circle_images images='621,620″ positioning='standard' alignment_desktop='left' alignment_tablet='inherit' alignment_phone='inherit' animation='none' image_size='large' image_loading='default'][vc_column_text css='' text_direction='default']Our experts: Jules Kappeler (CEO) & Christian Sutter (Portfolio Manager)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding='no-extra-padding' column_padding_tablet='inherit' column_padding_phone='inherit' column_padding_position='all' flex_gap_desktop='10px' column_element_direction_desktop='default' column_element_spacing='default' desktop_text_alignment='default' tablet_text_alignment='default' phone_text_alignment='default' background_color_opacity='1″ background_hover_color_opacity='1″ column_backdrop_filter='none' column_shadow='none' column_border_radius='none' column_link_target='_self' column_position='default' gradient_direction='left_to_right' overlay_strength='0.3″ width='1/1″ tablet_width_inherit='default' animation_type='default' bg_image_animation='none' border_type='simple' column_border_width='none' column_border_style='solid'][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type='in_container' full_screen_row_position='middle' column_margin='default' column_direction='default' column_direction_tablet='default' column_direction_phone='default' bg_color='rgba(63,75,111,0.2)' scene_position='center' text_color='dark' text_align='left' row_border_radius='none' row_border_radius_applies='bg' row_position_desktop='default' row_position_tablet='inherit' row_position_phone='inherit' overflow='visible' class='border-box' overlay_strength='0.3″ gradient_direction='left_to_right' shape_divider_position='bottom' bg_image_animation='none' shape_type=''][vc_column column_padding='no-extra-padding' column_padding_tablet='inherit' column_padding_phone='inherit' column_padding_position='all' flex_gap_desktop='10px' column_element_direction_desktop='default' column_element_spacing='default' desktop_text_alignment='default' tablet_text_alignment='default' phone_text_alignment='default' background_color_opacity='1″ background_hover_color_opacity='1″ column_backdrop_filter='none' column_shadow='none' column_border_radius='none' column_link_target='_self' column_position='default' gradient_direction='left_to_right' overlay_strength='0.3″ width='1/1″ tablet_width_inherit='default' animation_type='default' bg_image_animation='none' border_type='simple' column_border_width='none' column_border_style='solid']

Newsletter

Gut informiert: Aktuelles zur Vermögensanlage

Mit uns sind Sie stets gut informiert!
